Russians Scammed with Fake OnlyFans Job Offers, Victims Lose ₽869,000
A new job scam scheme has emerged in Russia, with fraudsters tricking applicants by offering fake roles as OnlyFans content moderators. According to cybersecurity company F6, one criminal group stole over ₽869,000 ($9,400) from 93 victims in 2025 alone.
Scammers post job ads promising flexible schedules and salaries starting at ₽10,000 per week. Using fake Telegram accounts with premium status, they convince victims to install a supposed “OnlyFans app” — which is actually a malicious APK downloaded from a fake Google Play page.
Victims are asked to link their bank cards with a “₽1 subscription.” In reality, the spyware intercepts SMS codes, giving criminals access to accounts and even enabling them to take out loans in the victim’s name. Reported losses range from ₽800 to ₽155,000 per person.
F6 experts warn Android users to avoid third-party app links, download only from official stores, and carefully review app permissions.
